A Long Overdue Post

It has been quite some time with no updates posted. Ethan is now 19 months old, and it is incredibly hard to believe that his 2nd birthday is really just around the corner. Our lives are definitely busy right now as he has discovered that he can climb basically anywhere he wants to go in the house. I had to recently move the two barstools we have out of the kitchen because he discovered what cabinet our candy was in and kept using them to climb up on the counter to then get into the cabinet. He gets faster and faster each week, and he loves running and playing outside with all of our neighbor kids.

He is picking up so many words now, and sometimes he will out of the blue repeat something that we say, such as, "hey," or "ok." The latest one that makes us laugh is, "Oh goodness!" His version isn't exactly correct, but it is pretty amusing.

Since he is such an outdoor boy, we are looking forward to the nice, summer weather that will be here soon. We have had some wonderful spring weather so far, so hours are spent outside when we are able to.

We don't have any big plans for the summer at this point in time. We were able to get away for a week back in March, basically last minute planning, so we probably won't be taking much time "off" through the summer months. That makes the weekends even more valuable to have time together as a family.

Tim did have a furlough day last week, and we took the opportunity to check out the tulip field just about 30 minutes north of us. It was so much better than fighting the crowds on the weekend, and Ethan had a great time running around and pointing out all the flowers.

This weekend, we will be meeting up with a very dear college friend of mine. I don't get to see her very often as she and her husband live in Arizona, but she has a son who is just 7 weeks older than Ethan. We'll see if the two boys are instant friends!
