The last month and a half have been a bit of a whirlwind for us, involving a move back to the Pacific Northwest. Later in January, Tim was offered a job with the Washington State Department of Ecology, which we opted to accept and put ourselves back closer to "home" and family. We got everything packed up and headed out of Phoenix within about two and a half weeks. Fortunately, we weren't on a lease anymore with the rental we had there, so it was easy to just give notice and head out.
We spent almost a week making our way to Washington, stopping along the way to visit family. We had opted to move our things using PODS this time, so were going to have to allow time for our POD to arrive anyway. With the help of a friend in the area, we had secured another rental close to where Tim's new office was going to be. We are enjoying being back in a single family home again rather than a townhouse with neighbors on both sides of us. It is a lot quieter, and Ethan has a fenced backyard to run around in. The one big adjustment that we are having is getting used to the colder weather again. Fortunately, this has been a mild winter for the Northwest and so temps have been above average, but we are still cold. It was around 80 degrees when we left the Phoenix area, so the difference of 30 degrees is noticeable.
We are pretty happy with the area we are in. We seem to be very centrally located to anything that we need to have access to. I am hoping that we remain settled for a bit now, without facing another big move in the near future. Tim's job seems to be going well, and the experience at ASU was a good stepping stone for him to move forward within the field of Communications.
