So...a while ago, as I was reading one of the daily devotional pieces from a book that I have been attempting to stick to, one line struck a very strong chord with me. Here it is weeks later, and I have been thinking about it continuously. It has summarized a struggle that I have had in my spiritual walk for years, so I thought I would share it in case some of you benefit by hearing it as well. I love it when, after wandering along performing the motions for quite some time, a scripture jumps out and bites me. It helps put things back in perspective.
"My strength is not found in how courageously I struggle but in how completely I surrender."

"a scripture just jumps out and bites me". :) I like that. Thank you for sharing a very interesting thought. Which book are you reading?
This is a concept I, too, have been working on. I'm realizing just how much of a control freak I am and that it doesn't do many any good - only leaves me frustrated more often than not.
I really am working on letting go of feeling like I'm in control - because I'm not - so I don't really know what I'm trying to hold on to. Making myself crazy maybe????
I have been reading "Moments With the Savior" by Ken Gire. It isn't the best devotional style for me, but he does have some good points.
